Coming Spring 2007
Although
estate agents are cagey about precise values, they do agree
that an attractive garden makes a house much more saleable.
And a garden certainly has a huge part to play in how much
you enjoy your home. TV makeover programmes and garden shows
have dramatically raised our expectations of what a garden
can offer us. We dream of ‘outdoor living’ in
a beautifully designed space that incorporates a patio, possibly
with barbecue, lit in the evening by candles or lanterns,
a children’s play area, an organic vegetable patch,
a lawn with colourful borders and stylish containers.

However, plants are living things that can be unpredictable.
And there is some basic science involved: what are the soil
and light conditions like in your garden, and how does this
affect what can be grown? Asking the right questions and thinking
about what you want is the key to success, so when looking
at the garden of a new property, take the following into consideration
: - size, immediate surroundings, trees, scope for planting,
containers, usable space etc.

If your new or old garden needs an overhaul, consider employing
a garden architect / designer from Laurel Design to
draw up a design for you. It’s much easier to work to
a master plan that incorporates all your requirements, eg,
colourful borders, sitting areas, privacy, a lawn, shelter
and low-maintenance planting, than evolve a satisfactory design
over a long period of time.

Laurel
Design's qualified garden architect / designer's
will discuss both their ideas and that of your own, and advise
on the best possible solution for your garden.

Laurel
Design's team of gardeners can either carry out the
design work for your, or they can just supply you with the
finished design for you to do-it-yourself or have the work
completed by someone else.
Whether
you have a small town garden or a large country estate let,
Laurel Design, design the right garden for
you.
